Gember Distillery, creator of the Two Gingers brand, is on a mission to etch its name in history by attempting to break a world record for “the most people drinking gin in one place” at Moving The Mountain – Cape Town’s Record Breaking Music Fest. This epic event will unfold against the iconic backdrop of Table Mountain at Newlands Cricket Ground on Saturday, 7 October, starting at 11am until 8.30pm.
While the primary focus is on claiming the world record, the festival’s entertainment roster is nothing short of legendary. Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews will kick things off with the official record audit led by Cape Town’s top spirits’ judge, Leah van Deventer. The event host, Radio 5 DJ Dan Corder, will introduce DJ Gremlin, along with acclaimed artists Matthew Mole, Spoegwolf, Neon Dreams and Jimmy Nevis, along with Acoustic Element, Amy Jones, Congo Cowboys, and Nhoza.

Tickets, available via TicketPro, are R550 per person, while golden circle ticket holders can join the elite ranks of world record busters for R850 per person. There are also suites available for groups of 24 or more at R10 080. As a token of gratitude, every attendee will receive a goody bag, complete with a world record memento and mini record-breaking bottles of Two Gingers Gin for the official audited world record tasting – ensuring memories of this historic day linger long after the last sip.
Moving The Mountain is also about giving back. Wynand de Vries, founder & COO and Simon Cranswick, founder and CEO, of Two Gingers Gin, have pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds to three charities close to their hearts: Wandisa, U_Turn, and TEARS Animal Rescue.
Whether you’re a gin enthusiast or someone looking to be part of something extraordinary, this festival is your moment to shine. “Let’s raise a glass and collectively etch our names in the record books,” says Simon.
