Take a budding friendship formed just before Covid-19 lockdowns, sprinkle in a 12-year-old business plan, add in a 10-day quarantine and out comes a recipe that produced the Two Gingers craft gin.
Founders Simon Cranswick and Wynand de Vries became acquaintances at the start of 2020 when Cranswick hired De Fries to do renovations at his home.
A friendship quickly blossomed and at the end of the year their families and friends went on a festive season safari holiday. While there, one of the staff contracted Covid-19, which forced everyone at the hotel into a 10-day quarantine.
The pair said it was here that they stopped toying around with the idea of starting their craft gin distillery and brand and decided to take a leap of faith.
The brand is named after the fact that they both have ginger hair.
